BRIEF HISTORY OF GOVERNOR FERRER MEMORIAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL- PASONG KAWAYAN II ANNEX

INTRODUCTION:

         The Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School- Pasong Kawayan II Annex was established to cater the needs of the growing student population of Pamayanang Maliksi and its neighboring subdivisions. this annexed school, which is the fourth of its kind, was realized through the united efforts of the Principal IV of GFMNHS-Main, Dr. Prudencio M. Animas and Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Yolanda V. Carpina of DepEd- Cavite Province. With this establishment, more students would have the opportunity to pursue secondary education that is accessible and affordable.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: 

        The GFMNHS- PK II Annex started its operation on July 2, 2010 (1st Semester, SY 2010-2011) due to the increasing number of high school students of Pamayanang Maliksi and nearby subdivisions.

      Through the help of Dr. Yolanda V. Carpina, Schools Division Superintendent, parents were met and the school was finally realized. Also, through the effort of GFMNHS- Main Principal IV, Dr. Prudencio M. Animas, enrolees were gathered. Two officials were assigned: One (1) Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Victoria A. Arca and one (1) officer-in-charge, Mrs. Agnes D. Camutin.

         Enrolment began on June 2010. It was led by the officials mentioned above. One hundred twelve (112) students, both freshmen & sophomores, pioneered the secondary education, Mrs. Rhetchell C. De Taza (English) and Mrs. Leah Anne A. Misenas (TLE), Provincial School Board teachers have comprised the teaching force under the supervision of Mrs. Belinda M. Ambojia. After a week, Mr. Joey O. Sombrero (Science) and his wife, Mrs. Marisol Sombrero (Social Studies) Regular/Permanent Teachers from Main, were added.

           There are eight classrooms constructed in Phase 2 located at Pamayanang Maliksi, General Trias, Cavite. The parcel of land and the building were donated by the Provincial Government, headed by Gov. Ireneo "Ayong"Maliksi. Additional buildings are programmed to be constructed next school year. At present, the school has fourteen (14) teachers and 454 students under the supervision of the officer-in-charge, Mrs. Belinda M. Ambojia
